BURNLEY boss Sean Dyche expects Sam Vokes to be fit for the top of the table clash with Brighton tomorrow lunchtime despite the striker missing Wales' friendly with Holland last week.

The frontman travelled down to Cardiff to join up with Chris Coleman's side ahead of the 3-2 defeat to Holland but the 26-year-old returned to Gawthorpe for treatment on a groin injury.

But Dyche is likely to start Vokes alongside top scorer Andre Gray tomorrow.

“Everyone’s come back in good shape from the internationals," said Dyche. "Obviously Vokesy missed out on the internationals but he’s looking good now so we’re confident he’ll be alright.

“You can never guarantee it but he’s been involved in a lot of football and he’s working very hard in between so you never know, it might just have been a little refresher for him.”

Dyche also hinted that midfielder Dean Marney could be included in the matchday squad as he continues his comeback from a cruciate knee ligament injury.

The midfielder has yet to feature for the first team this season but has come through several development squad games.

“He’s certainly closer so we’ll consider the situation," Dyche added.
