MANAGER Chris Hughton feels unbeaten Brighton are facing their toughest test yet at Burnley tomorrow.

The second-placed Seagulls are the only team across English football’s four divisions yet to experience a league defeat, after 16 games.

But Hughton feels Burnley will provide the biggest threat to their run so far.

“This league is full of really tough games and we haven’t had a comfortable game yet. They (Burnley) are a side of real quality,” he said.

“If I look at what they have, the team isn’t very much different from the team that played in the Premier League for them.

“They have got an extremely good manager who has managed the club very well in the time he has been there.

“They’re a very well organised side and they are certainly able to score goals. the lad (Andre) Gray is in very good form at the moment, so yes I think it’s our biggest test and it’s away from home as well.

“It’s difficult but a real good challenge. We’ve certainly been better on the road this season than we were last season, so we’d like to think we’re in better shape but it’s a very tough place to go and they have a team full of quality and experience.”

Stability, Hughton feels, has been the secret to their consistency to date.

“It was the first summer for certainly a couple where there has been a manager in place and we have been able to recruit more or less what we wanted,” said the Brighton boss.

“We didn’t have injuries in that pre-season period, which always helps, and it gave me from the period of time I was here from January to assess the squad and get over what I wanted from the squad.”
