RIGHT back Kieran Trippier has completed a £3.5million move from Burnley to Tottenham Hotspur, signing a five-year deal.

And the process of replacing the Bury-born defender is well down the line for the Clarets, with a deal for Aston Villa right back Matt Lowton edging closer.

Trippier has been in talks with Spurs all week, after a clause was triggered in the former England Under-21 international’s contract.

Lowton is expected to cost Burnley around £1million.

On completing his move to White Hart Lane Trippier said: “When I first heard that the club was interested I didn’t have to think twice.

"It’s such a big club and now I just can’t wait to get started and show everyone what I can do.

"Whenever I get a chance, I want to do well for the other players, the staff and, of course, the fans.

"I’ll take every opportunity I get with both hands and hopefully play my part for everyone at the club."

Trippier made a total of 185 appearances for the Clarets after joining from Manchester City, initially on loan, at the start of the 2011/12 campaign.

He was named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year in 2012-13 and 2013-14 while also being named Burnley's player of the year in his first season at Turf Moor.

Trippier contributed four assists during the Clarets season in the Premier League and helped Sean Dyche's side keep 10 clean sheets despite being relegated.
