A DANCER had to pull out of a city show after a terrifying road rage incident.

Dawn Nelson, 25, says she looked on in horror as a man smashed her windscreen in a dispute over a city centre parking space.

She had been due to take the stage at The Pavilion in Peter Pan, but was forced to lock herself inside her blue Rover 25 as the argument raged in the Merchant City.

Police were called to the incident and Dawn was so upset by the row she missed a matinee performance of the show.

Dawn, from Yoker, was shopping with her mum when the dispute flared, near the city's Brunswick Hotel.

She was due to perform alongside Big Brother star Cameron Stout, River City's Stephen Purdon and variety legend Dean Park a few hours after the lunchtime incident.

Dawn said: "It was terrifying how quickly things escalated and I was a nervous wreck for ages afterwards.

"I had been trying to get into a parking space, which was blocked, and motioned for the other driver to move.

"He refused and an argument broke out and the next thing I knew, the driver started pounding on my windscreen."

Dawn, who has performed in theatres across the UK, was comforted by co-star Cameron.

The Big Brother 4 winner said: "Dawn was very upset but thankfully she had the presence of mind to take his registration.

"She couldn't stop shaking. How many man-hours are lost every year because of this mindless type of aggression?"

A police spokeswoman confirmed officers were called to the incident and warned a man over his conduct.
