ELLE MACPHERSON will strut her way down to Glasgow's Merchant City next month.

The enduring Australian supermodel - now 43 - will visit the city for the third Scottish Style Awards.

The event, which aims to celebrate the movers and shakers within the city's design and fashion world, will take place at the Old Fruitmarket on October 26.

And as well as getting the model nicknamed The Body' to take part in the awards bash, organisers have lined up a week of fashion-inspired events in the city Last year, businesses including 29 and Dakota and stars David Tennant and KT Tunstall were honoured. This year 14 awards are up for grabs.

Scotland's most stylish hotel, restaurant, boutique, and food emporium will all be named, together with the country's most stylish male and female.

There is a Scottish Fashion Designer of the Year category together with the year's Scottish Tastemaker.

There's also a special accolade for a person or business who has made a major contribution to Scottish style.

But the week of fashion shows and parties has also been created for the public and for £10 anyone can attend the events at the Old Fruitmarket.

Bailie Liz Cameron, Vice-Chairman of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau said: "Glasgow is known as a place where exciting and stylish things happen, and these events will add that extra bit of sparkle to the autumn-winter season."
