Tom Heaton 6
Phenomenal save from Cork initially but should have then kept out the deflection off Trippier, although he probably wasn’t expecting it
Kieran Trippier 6
Lack of a direct opponent allowed him to get forward regularly in the first half, but will be disappointed he didn’t clear corner
Michael Keane 7
Showed excellent pace to get a block in on Wayne Routledge in the first half and defended well
Jason Shackell 7
A solid performance from the captain with Burnley relatively untroubled at the back in open play
Ben Mee 7
Much improved recently and was never unduly threatened by Routledge’s pace and running with the ball
Michael Kightly 6
Had one chance, although should have been penalised for a push before that, but struggled to make an impact on the game
Scott Arfield 6
Sloppy in possession in the first half and well short of the quality he showed at Stamford Bridge last week
David Jones 7
Another player who had a solid game, spreading the play nicely at times, without ever really reaching his best
George Boyd 5
Anonymous for most of the game and one of his poorest performances in a Burnley shirt
Ashley Barnes 6
Didn’t seem unduly affected by last week’s attention but should have scored and put Burnley ahead midway through the first half
Danny Ings 7
Some nice touches as usual but just as impressive was his work rate and energy in chasing down defenders
Substitutes
Sam Vokes for Kightly (75) Lukas Jutkiewicz for Barnes (90)
Subs not used
Matt Gilks, Michael Duff, Stephen Ward, Steven Reid, Ross Wallace
