AFTER the international break is over it is the start of a massive few weeks for Burnley.

Three of the next four games are at home and we’ve got to be looking for a win, ideally a couple of wins, from those games, and if we play as we have been doing for most of the games that is certainly achievable.

Getting a point at Leicester was a very good result the way the game went, with Burnley twice having to come from behind.

To be behind twice and fight back to get an equaliser on both occasions shows great character, it’s exactly what was needed after the West Brom game.

When I saw the team and there was no Marney and Jones again I was concerned after the West Brom game, but Arfield and Ward did well in central midfield.

Ward is versatile, which is a great asset to the squad. He was signed primarily as a full-back and he can play that position very well, but he can also play in two or three other positions.

I think Scott Arfield is better in a central position as well if we can fit him in there. Centrally he is involved more in the game and that is what you want for a player of Scott’s ability, you want him on the ball as often as possible, and he’s done very well in central midfield.

One thing the Leicester game did show is that we do have competition for places with the injured players returning. I always say that if you are given the chance in the team it is up to you to take it, and on Saturday a lot of players did that.

With Kightly and Wallace scoring it adds competition out wide, and gives you the option of Scott playing in the middle. Wallace has got two great feet and he is a big asset on dead ball situations, as he showed in the last minute.

It gives the manager a bit of a headache for selection, but I’m sure he is grateful for that.

After West Brom I think everybody thought it was going to be a long hard season, but the Leicester result was exactly what we needed to lift the spirits.

Danny Ings should be back for the West Ham game and that will be a huge boost, he is a goalscorer and that is something we’ve been missing, I can’t wait to see him back.

The break has hopefully done him some good, it will have given Danny time to take stock of his first few games in the Premier League and to think about his game.

Hopefully he will come back firing.
