JOSE Mourinho believes the rest of the Premier League will not find it easy to emulate Chelsea and beat Burnley at Turf Moor this season.

Mourinho’s side overcame Scott Arfield’s opener to claim a 3-1 victory over the Clarets on Monday night but the Portuguese boss reserved praise for Burnley after the match.

Only Leicester and Middlesbrough won at Turf Moor in the Championship last season, and Mourinho thinks Premier League sides will face a tough task there as well.

He complimented the work of Burnley manager Sean Dyche – nicknamed ‘the Ginger Mourinho’ – but declared himself satisfied with a Chelsea performance that established them as immediate title contenders this term.

“I think we really deserved these three points, against a side that is going to give a fight to everyone that comes here,” Mourinho said.

“Burnley were difficult, I think they play with their strengths, very direct, their two strikers very close to each other and the combination between both.

“The wingers are high intensity people, they can accelerate, they can come inside to shoot, they can go outside to cross.

“I think they are very well worked side so the coach has to be good.

“In the Premier League obviously they have to play against teams with a different dimension of players but that’s what money does.

“I think with the potential they had they gave us a difficult match and will give a difficult match to anyone, so I wish them the best.”

Mourinho praised the way his side responded to Arfield’s goal – hailing debutant Cesc Fabregas and his side’s superb second goal, which the Spaniard laid on for Andre Schurrle.

“I think we had a good reaction and the first part of that reaction was that emotionally we were not affected by the goal conceded,” he said.

“We conceded a goal and kept playing according to the way we are training and the way we want to play.

“The players were very calm, they never lost their composure and after that we had a fantastic 20 or 25 minutes with three goals, especially the second one, a fantastic goal. The movement and the quality of the passing, the vision and the understanding between them was beautiful.

“I think the team played very well but I agreed with Cesc being the man of the match because him and Matic controlled the game.

“They were both good brains in this team and I’m happy with that because probably last season we couldn’t control the way we did in this game.

“In the second half we had control. I was a bit afraid because I know that my players are not in top physical form already to give the same kind of performance for 90 minutes so we lost a bit of attacking appetite.

“But the control of the game and the control of possession was always there.”

Mourinho had one criticism, aimed at the officials after Diego Costa was booked for diving when he fell under Tom Heaton’s first-half challenge.

“It was a penalty but the linesman decided not to give it,” said the Chelsea boss.
