BURNLEY could be set to sign Stephen Ward from Wolves, after seemingly hijacking Brighton's bid to secure the left back.

The Republic of Ireland international was due for a medical at the Amex this afternoon, after the Seagulls agreed a fee and Ward, who turns 29 this week, agreed personal terms.

But the defender failed to attend, and it is now understood that the Clarets have also agreed a fee with Wolves.

So you (a) know all the details or (b) believe everything you read ), or maybe (c) neither know everything or believe the press but can't stop yourself spouting off anyway? Back stabber? Really? What other than nothing important do you know?

Brighton or Burnley, its a tough call and if he has some say in it like dawson stanislas treacy, deeney, and Lansbury, its looking more likely Brighton but if this is their idea of the quality I have been asking for, lord help us.

Also a £4 million bid been submitted for Wigan midfielder James McArthur which the Telegraph hasn't picked up on.

As for Ward, it would seem to mean the Dawson deal is dead in the water - I would imagine that this would mean Ben Mee moving back into his favoured position of centre half alongside Shacks, although having two left footed centre backs could be a bit unbalanced.

Is Mee any quicker than Duff?- Dawson would have been ideal if only the board would have backed Dyche's judgement and coughed up a few more bob. would hate to go down because we scored 2 gals a game but let in 3-4 a game due to a slow defence. The game is played more on the ground in the Premier and so need the ore mobile defenders

Dawson is due to start for WBA on Saturday so any chance of landing him now looks remote, particularly with Lescott facing a long spell on the sidelines.
Mee is not particularly quick but is definitely quicker than Duff, don't forgot he has been up against some pacy right wingers in The Championship whilst playing at left back and didn't get beaten for pace too many times that I can recall.

Not really sure what's going on with incomings, it is very frustrating though. That said with the way the game is going I am also content that we are not just throwing it at one vain attempt to succeed next season.

I agree that Mee is quicker than Duff but not comfortable that he can keep up with he extra pace there is up the Premier League . I saw him at Watford and thought he was left for dead several times. We can give up on Dawson for the start of the season, maybe things will look different in the January window.
I hope he proves me wrong though -

Not even Shearer would go back to a dump like that, not even now. That's why they can only get the likes of Varney, Brown, Williamson and Marshall. Lifes tough in Royston Vasey these days even for the fatherless children who support Chicken Pluckers FC.
