ANDRE Schurrle may have just won the World Cup with Germany, but he has warned Chelsea to be wary of Burnley next week as they bid to avoid the slip-ups that cost them the title last season.

The Blues – 2-0 winners over Real Sociedad in their final pre-season game last night thanks to a brace from Diego Costa – lost at Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Stoke and Newcastle during their 2013/14 league campaign.

Chelsea open the new season at Turf Moor on Monday and Schurrle says they must be more prepared to battle away from home.

“We need to fight for the points,” said the German.

“Every match in the Premier League is very difficult, we saw that last season when we had many games away from home when we weren’t playing at our top level and we didn’t win them. We need to fight for every ball.”
