Burnley celebrate Lukas Jutkiewicz's goal

Burnley celebrate Lukas Jutkiewicz's goal

First published in Sport

A last minute Josh Brownhill free kick condemned Burnley to defeat in pre-season action at Deepdale.

Lukas Jutkiewicz put the Clarets ahead with his third goal in three games and the striker again impressed as he led the line alongside Danny Ings.

The former Middlesbrough man calmly opened the scoring in the 15th minute after David Jones had robbed Bailey Wright.

But Preston were level thanks to Alan Browne's deflected effort on 52 minutes and just when it looked like fizzling out into a draw Brownhill fired home a 25-yard free kick in the final minute to win it for the home side.

Burnley went into the game without a number of players through injury. Tom Heaton, Michael Kightly and Steven Reid are yet to feature in pre-season.

Burnley: Matt Gilks; Kieran Trippier, Michael Duff, Jason Shackell, Ben Mee; Scott Arfield, Dean Marney, David Jones, Matt Taylor (Ross Wallace 61); Lukas Jutkiewicz (Marvin Sordell 65), Danny Ings.

Subs not used: Alex Cisak, Danny Lafferty, Luke O’Neill, Kevin Long, Steven Hewitt, Tom Anderson, Jason Gilchrist.

Preston: Jamie Jones; Scott Wiseman (Calum Woods 46), Tom Clarke, Bailey Wright, Ben Davies (David Buchanan 78); Josh Brownhill, Alan Browne (Kevin Davies 75), Neil Kilkenny (Jack King 46); Andy Little (Will Hayhurst 75), Joe Garner (John Welsh 75), Paul Gallagher (Chris Humphrey 61).

Subs not used: Thorsten Stuckmann, Keith Keane, Scott Laird, Jordan Hugill.

May I suggest a boycott until we spend some money?

Whoa - the hate ends up eating you up does it Claretcert-lifter? This from the certified preacher of hate whenever there is a football article you could otherwise be commenting on.

May I add that perhaps this result is due to naivety in your management, on the pitch and the terraces. The only way to get a result against your superior teams like Preston is to pack the midfield. A horrific season of getting drubbed, hanging on to the odd result and percentge football awaits you. Hopefully you'll be there or that raggy win or two though I'd book your holidays from any time early March onward.

This result (while hilarious) is ultimately just a pre-season friendly and not really that important.

However, It'd be interesting to know what all the screaming Clarets trolls who were all over the Rovers threads after our recent draws make of it.

According to them not winning a few friendly matches is the worst thing that can ever happen to a team and means that relegation is inevitable.

Have you changed your tune chumps?

Ha ha - almost all of the above gloats are from one person, troll in chief Gollum. Seriously what on earth are you so super excited about? I know life on benefits in Blackburn can't be that much fun. And you do tend to post unending boring nonsense a lot, all day, every day. But is the highlight of you week so far really a result in a friendly involving 2 teams you don't support? You clearly don't care what people think but anyone would think you were odd, obsessed maybe depressed? After the game I went for a beer, called at a mate's and came home, got some sleep got up and came to work. I don think you've been out this week except to top up on cheap cider and pot noodles. Go to football you moron, games are won drawn and lost. Get out of your stinky bedsit and stop sharing your manic depression online. You're ill, boring and dull. No banter, no humour, no wit, a thick boring drain on the state. Lighten up man before hate consumes you completely. Get a pet or something.

Thanks, I was intending to get a donkey but Shorn Douche has extended his contract. Nice hatred preach there and well done on ignoring the fact that you can't state East Lancs Top Dogs as is your modus operandi off a solitary win. It was aways particularly odd when you're from Yorkshire in any case. And once again, just to re-iterate for your slow learning, there are a few of us and one of you. Your 6-fingered brethren are obviously sensible enough to keep their heads down today.

Why would they when they only pass it on the bus on their way to sign on? Much more fun pretending to and spouting nonsense online about ours. Fishfinger this is PRESEASON. The PL starts on the 18th of August for us, well after the Chumpionship, league 1 and 2 kick off.

Same banal language same ticks, same Gollum sat in his bedsit all day sucking the taxpayers dry and getting rather over-excited about a club he hates. Same links to his boring, barely visited website for autistic idiots. Same anti-Burnley drivel under each ID. Same boring statements, another day another 2 litres of cider for breakfast. Mr Ted Maul, Another Pounding ,zzzzz..... Sane old sad alcoholic in Blackburn dodging work and pretending to have friends. It was 2:1 to Presto Gollum. Sorry did that make you run to the bathroom again?
TurfMoorTroll says "there are a few of us and one of you". No Gollum it's just you logged in with at least 4 of your usernames in different windows. Same ISP same person. Do you think the world is as thick as you are and as determinedly obsessed as you are? You're an idiot. Still letting the troll wind you up eh?

I'm just Mr Ted Maul. I've only ever posted as Ted Maul or some variation thereof.

That's it. Any idiot can see that.

Please don't bother replying to this , the thought of having to wade through another of your tediously dull, disturbingly onanism obsessed posts fills my heart with woe.

Have a productive day.!

Dissapointing result, but as stated above its hardly life or death, as to our noisy sub-par championship team down the road, find something better to do with you spare time, you were all spouting about how games like this are not important afer your p*ss poor draws with Accy & Bradford, but as soon as it happens to Burnley you change bandwagons in a heartbeat!
Hypocrites!
Still laughing my fao with you , you dim witted f , you are in the prem for 1 season well done for that, but and it is a big B you have signed fa of any significance reid ex rover is hardly gonna set the prem alight, taylor from west ham cannot cut the cloth either, as for blackburn they are just if not worse than bstards, and mid table obscurity.

Aye, once in 35 years, well done !!!.......Sorry to mention it but it seems YOU forgot.
If I wanted to delve into history I could recall all the times Burnley were in Division 1 and you were in Division 2 wondering how to pay the next electric bill. But I don’t. I prefer to look modern history and I ask myself since Rovers and Burnley were in the same division when you were relegated how many of the games between them have Rovers won? Well know about the last one don’t we when you all went home early sobbing and in floods of tears asking how bad can it get? Well it can get a whole lot worse for you. If you don’t get promoted this year the Venky’s may well jettison you and there would be great big splash if that happened. They will be praying to the God Shiva that you go up so when they do sell they can recoup some of their losses. If were you I would pray to your God too for the same thing.

Bring back Keane the only manager since relegation to have Blackburn in the top 3.
