Burnley training without Treacy

KEITH Treacy has not returned to fight for a new deal at Burnley, after failing to hit his physical target.

The winger was not offered new terms by manager Sean Dyche at the end of his three-year Clarets deal.

But after playing his part in promotion Treacy was offered the opportunity to earn the chance to be part of their Premier League squad.

It is an incentive that the Republic of Ireland international appears to have passed up, with no sign of him on the squad’s return to training this week.

Burnley’s early pre-season sessions have focused on fitness testing.

It is understood Treacy, who was notorious for reporting back for pre-season out of shape, was given a body fat target to hit, but he fell short.

Body fat percentage is the total mass of fat divided by total body mass, including essential body fat and storage body fat.

The average body fat percentage for a male is between 18 and 24. For a male athlete it is between six and 13.

Great chance wasted if true. Imagine being given 6 weeks to get in shape for the chance every schoolboy dreams of and going 'nah'. At Preston he was the same, chance after chance, seems Dyche has closed the book on that one - hope he gets a contract and gets fit as he is one heck of a talented guy.

What an absolute tool even on your pay structure I would have thought he would have got 2 grand a week if not more. He either won the lottery or thinks he can walk into another club but I doubt that if fitness is an issue. Its sad really he is going to regret this all for the sake of six weeks. Some people just do not deserve to have talent.

He obviously didn't fancy it after seeing the quality of Dyches signings when compared to Howes. Another player who would prefer to be elsewhere. There is obviously something in this with players falling over one another to get away and transfer targets doing a runner after the tour

Clever management by SD and the team. Inspite of his talent I think they quickly realised he was high maintenance and one sandwich short of a picnic.
Good luck for the future Keith

I agree wholeheartedly. There's more players opting out of Dingleville as opposed to signing. I had the 'pleasure' (misfortune) of visiting Burnleh for the first time a couple of years ago and after 5 minutes in that disgusting sh*t hole it's no surprise whatsoever that players, besides desperate ones are turning their back on Turd Moor in droves.

Its tough being a footballer !! what a complete plonker messing up the only chance he will probably ever get of playing at the highest level and getting great money for enjoying himself at the same time. Some people would give their right arm for an opportunity like this.

A very talented footballer deserves so much better than snide troll remarks from an individual whose multiple identity habits (above) posting under different IDs to try make his drivel seem valuable - other than stalk a team you don't support and post bile and abuse, what have you ever done you gimp? A flawed genius is questioned by a drag on the NHS. Priceless

I think it's quite good and as he says, Treacy had his chance at a higher level. He was noted as a problem early on at Rovers and moved on. Shorn Douche must not be a very good judge of character to let things slide for so long.
