BURNLEY have signed Scotland goalkeeper Matthew Gilks on a free, following the end of his Blackpool contract.

The 32-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal and will join Tom Heaton, Alex Cisak and young Australian Daniel Nizic in the goalkeeping ranks.

Gilks began his career with hometown club Rochdale, where he made almost 200 appearances before joining Norwich City in 2007.

He moved back to the north west within 12 months, joining Blackpool.

Gilks made his debut for the Tangerines in January 2009 and went on to help the club achieve promotion to the Premier League in 2010.

He made his international debut for Scotland in 2012.

More quality cover for our squad.

Blackburn gimps were laughing at our lack of cover all last season and predicting it would cost us - it didn't.

Good experienced cover for Tom Heaton who I expect will be number one.

First to the story again Barry, talking about fat I believe you have more Chins than a Chinese telephone directory, not surprising as you never seem to leave your house or computer at all.

If you must know, I'm a very lean 200 pounds, Its seems heavy i know but I am quite tall. I do lots of kick boxing, boxing and jujutsu, plus plenty of cardiac work as I hate the thought of ever getting fat. I usually hit the bag at least twice a day for a good hour or two. Get a good burn going when the lactic acid builds up.
Anyway I think if gilks likes to be fit like me, he'll be able to play at this level for a good few years and of course he has relegation experience with Blackpool so knows the score. This last pay day journeyman could get us out of a hole

He doesn't "hit the bag" twice a day, he's on here far too often to have any sort of fitness routine... not to worry fella, as they say, "it's all in the mind(s)"....

Cardiac work? I assume you mean Cardio but you just couldn't remember that term you once heard on the shopping channel when you were pulling yourself around the living room over the lycra clad fitness instructor with his dreamy sixpack.

Similarly, I assume JuJutsu must be some rare form of Jujitsu I've not yet heard of? Or perhaps it's just another figment of your warped and deviant imagination?

"I usually hit the bag at least twice a day for a good hour or two". Assuming you don't mean your mum or the old lady who lives in the bedsit next door to you, then I have to pull you up on this little gem also. If you had any idea of how simple you actually sound then maybe you'd not embarrass yourself so much. For anyone who understands the physical fitness level required to "hit the bag" for more than say ten minutes, then its apparent that your "good hour or two" is rather far fetched, and let's be honest, made up. And the old lady next door could probably give you a good hiding anyway.

Also a lactic acid build-up is a sign of ill health, poor overall fitness level and low cardiovascular capacity, and therefore suggests that you actually take little or no regular exercise, certainly nothing like you imply.

Basically what you have taken the trouble to type is just another paragraph of straight-up lies. Disproved on all counts.

Why do you do it?

Gilks is an international keeper who will push our number one to even better performances in the Premier League. Another good signing, following those of Sam Vokes, Kieran Trippier, Michael Kightly, Michael Duff..... and there was another wasn't there... oh yes, the most sickening of all for you... Sean Dyche.

Accept it, we've gone up, we're in the Premier League, you clowns are a whole division below us and you're going to struggle massively when FFP puts you under a transfer embargo and forces the sale of your key players in January. Accept it and move along. You'll only succeed in showing yourself up further with your desperately pitiful lies.

Gilks is a fine keeper and will make good cover for Heaton. As I have said before, you don't have to spend stupid money for decent players, you just have to shop around. All we need is a squad worthy of 17th in the first season, that will do for most Clarets and will be enough to make the jealous ones even more sick than they already are.
