Andy Lochhead: I’m glad defender extended his Tripp with Burnley

Kieran Trippier

I CANNOT wait to see Kieran Trippier in the Premier League now that he has committed his future to the Clarets.

It was great to hear that he signed a new three-year deal last week, and unsurprising that he credits Sean Dyche as a big factor in his decision to extend his career at Turf Moor.

His game has really developed under the manager, especially the defensive aspects.

Trippier has always said there is work to do in that department but improvements have been made under Dyche, who was a defender himself during his playing days.

But Trippier is a committed player. His assets going forward could certainly never be questioned. He is like an extra winger when he makes those darting runs, and his delivery into the box is second to none.

I can only imagine that he, and young players like him such as Ben Mee and Scott Arfield, can take their game onto another level by playing at the top level.

When you are playing against better players and better teams you become a better player yourself and I look forward to seeing that development in all of them.

I certainly hope Dyche will be the man to lead them throughout next season, and I’m sure he will be.

There has been speculation linking him to the vacant manager’s posts at Southampton and West Brom, but that is par for the course when someone has done well for you. Be it a player or a manager, if they are having a good spell or a good season then it is inevitable that people are going to sit up and take notice of what they are doing and perhaps show interest in them.

But that doesn’t mean that he will be going anywhere.

Even if West Brom came in for him I think he would stay because he has started a job here and he will want to finish it.

He will want to prove himself by keeping that he has the ability to sustain Burnley in the Premier League.

And his reputation would be enhanced further still if he achieved that outcome.

Hopefully the club can back him with the budget that he needs to get the players he wants.

It has been quiet on that front so far, but as I’ve said before it’s a difficult time of year with players on holiday or involved in international games.

I’m sure things will start to pick up as we approach pre-season, and ideally there will be a season ticket sell-out to back them.

The club are not too far away from selling all of their 15,000 allocation, so there promises to be a full-house every time at Turf Moor with the town backing their team in the Premier League.

I'm glad we managed to put this massive piece of business to bed and tied our Justin Timberlake look-a-like down to an extended contract before he realised Ings and Dyche were on their way. A shrewd move by those at the helm

Yeah great news, unfortunately the release close has not been mentioned! With Ings and Douche leaving soon, he will want out too, and Douche knows him and his contract well so no doubt will pay the small fee and have him at his new club.

All the best Tripps

Follow the Douche.........be nice little men

Once he puts himself in the shop window playing in the Champions League, international full team honours await.

If you couldn't make it up, it must be true. Easier and less time-consuming for you to write "Its true". I hope you found this free service useful given your lack of any form of basic intelligence.
