After the hottest weekend of the year so far, Bondi Beach Boy would be an apt winner of the Happy 10th Birthday Racing UK Handicap at the seaside town of Redcar.

An absolute superstar for his handler Jim Turner last season, there is every chance he can regain the winning thread on his seasonal reappearance.

Unraced as a juvenile, he showed absolutely nothing in three starts at three but well and truly blossomed last summer.

His first win came at the end of May at Catterick off a lowly mark of 46 and he won his next two off 50 and 56 at Thirsk and Beverley respectively.

When he was a beaten favourite at Hamilton in early July, many might have felt that was as good as he was going to be but just three days later he returned to Beverley and won again.

A 10lb rise followed and he was beaten next time out, but then he rattled off three more wins, two more at Beverley, where he obviously goes well, and another at Thirsk.

By that point he was up to a mark of 82, but he was not disgraced on the Westwood once more in a decent class three event before he was stepped up to six furlongs for the first time on soft ground in the Ayr Bronze Cup.

That poor run is easily forgiven as it was his 12th run of the campaign, over a longer trip and on ground he does not like.

Back at the minimum distance on a decent surface, it will be fascinating to see how he fares and if his improvement has levelled off.

A 10lb rise might not be enough to stop David O'Meara's Sheriff Of Nawton in the Download New Racing UK iPad App Handicap.

His presence appears to have scared away a few rivals as he has barely come off the bridle in winning his last two.

The first of those, over seven furlongs at Catterick, off a lowly perch of 57, was nowhere near as impressive as his win over the same course and distance he faces here, when he laughed at his rivals off 63.

This requires another step forward, but O'Meara showed at York last week what he can do with a young and improving horse.

You never go far wrong by sticking with Richard Hannon and Richard Hughes at Windsor and Kool Kompany appears to be another above-average juvenile for the team.

He was due to make his second appearance at Newmarket on Friday but was pulled out with a vet's certificate, although it was obviously not a major issue.

Well backed before his debut at Leicester, he won with the minimum of fuss, and victory in the Weatherbys Private Banking Novice Stakes could tee him up for a trip to the Royal meeting.

Sir Michael Stoute's Bragging made nice late headway into third on her debut recently and given how much the trainer's horses usually improve for the run and the current form of the yard, she is crying out to be backed in the New Horseracing Odds At unibet.co.uk Maiden Fillies' Stakes.

David Simcock's Cafe Society has plenty of ability and it might just be that a change of jockey is what he needs in the Unibet Offer Daily Jockey & Trainer Specials Handicap.

Jamie Spencer worked the magic at Salisbury last June but the waiting tactics have backfired more than once since.

Jim Crowley can be expected to give him a more positive ride and that could see him return to winning ways.

Hugo Palmer's Extremity is much better than he showed on his Newbury return, a race which has worked out well anyway, and he can prove that by winning the Leicestershire Estate Agents Warning Zone Handicap at Leicester.

At Southwell, Lady Ibrox faces her easiest task for some time in the Quicksilverslots £1 To Win £500 Fillies' Handicap, while at Towcester Present To You can land the Ladbrokes Handicap Chase.
