Dialogue continues over Burnley deals

BURNLEY are continuing dialogue with Danny Ings and Kieran Trippier over potential new deals with the club.

Ings and Trippier both have only one year left on their current contracts and have been linked with interest from elsewhere after starring in the Clarets’ promotion season.

But Burnley are attempting to tie the duo to extended deals and discussions are continuing, although chief executive Lee Hoos is keen to keep private the details of how talks were progressing.

“I have dialogue with them all the time,” Hoos said. “But I would never do a contract negotiation in a public forum.”

Trippier has now jetted off on holiday, while Ings is preparing to represent England under 21s against Wales in Swansea on Monday.

After reported interest from elsewhere, Ings said: “Of course it is flattering to be linked with other clubs and I have seen some of the stuff in the papers and on Twitter. But I try and stay focused on what I am doing.

“You never know what is going to happen in football, but as it stands I am contracted at Burnley for another year and I am happy and looking forward to playing in the Premier League next season.”

“This year if we get the revenue streams right that’s an extra two players " said Mr Hoos yesterday. Perhaps these two are the ones he is referring to.

Apologies to go on about the ST prices but at Man City it is £725 for a family ticket of 1 parent and 2 children under 16. at Turf Moor it is £1045. Can anyone please try and justify why they think these prices can be correct? Personally I find it incredible that our chief Exec can stand there (Or sit) and say that he is charging premiership prices. Try and benchmark before making such statements, you are in danger of making the club look stupid.

Calm down McC. Comparing the clarets to the billionaire, PL winning arabs seems a little stretched don't you think? If it wasn't for FFP they could probably give their season tickets away! At the end of the day we are a unique club in the PL which means you can't compare us to the other 19 financially.

Its a scary time indeed. Here we are, in the real world where you earn your success and carefully husband your resources. We have EARNED an enormous sum of money. Yet we remain prudent. If a top player tries to get more than the new wage structure allows, you sell them and you buy someone else.

You'd think, they way you talk, it is normal to chuck money around willy-nilly and try to buy success and talk big. Hang on, you're a Rovers fan! Sorry. I do apologise. Where has all the money gone?

I'll answer it now, buying holiday homes and fast cars for the directors of your club. They couldn't give two hoots about the fans as shown with over inflated ticket prices and inability to pay their star performers what they deserve.

It's not about throwing money around, but at least show abit of ambition. 120 million in the coffers that was never budgeted for... Live a little, invest some and give some back to the fans that pay over the odds to support their club.

Rob, if this isn't yet another admission of defeat from the psychotic name-changer, then Blackburn and surrounding area has another problem on their hands. Reading between the lines, I think this is you-know-who and if so, he needs sending to that place in Warwickshire. If not, then send clowns like this to Coventry anyway. We don't need to demonstrate intellectual superiority over bampots like this, it's apparent they have some mental incapacity by the 'contributions' they think they're making so once we've all taken that for granted, there'll be no need to indulge them and feed their craving for an undeserved notoriety.

I am calm enough thanks Scamp but feel badly for those who are most affected by this. I had a season ticket for many years including last prem season and the following champ season. Family situation changed with new arrivals and my time was required elsewhere come the weekends.
To be honest last time round in the prem other than a few games I wasn't that impressed. Anelka, Zamora, Terry and Gerard (for a while) had decent games at the Turf, Anelka especially. Beating united being the obvious highlight, along with the first few months.
Thought our Championship prices were too high last season - this is Burnley were talking about, not sandbanks!
Hope the board back us more this time than they did last time

I think the board have looked at what happened after the last season in the PL and decided :-
1.They can rely on at least 12 or 13 PL home games where the cricket field stand will be an away sell out (4000 approx) and/or be on live TV.
2. The CF stand will be easier to control and bring a full house back above 22 thousand.
2.The 3500 home section season tickets left after the March deadline are the most likely not to be renewed if we don't stay up so it's going to cost you if you don't renew (genius!).

Probably because other clubs have already offered wages of over 25k per week and they want to see if Burnley will match them.

its all about the money I'm afraid and if the club cant invest more than the £50 they probably can afford to after ground maintence costs (it must cost a lot to keep fixing that rickety old shed).

Anyway I'm sop looking forward to MOTD next year and seeing Goals fly in the back of the Burnley net!

You live on fantasy fuc.kin' island, of course! There's me talking about the real world and you are shaking with withdrawal symptoms after an over-exposure to chicken.
Rob, if this isn't yet another admission of defeat from the psychotic name-changer, then Blackburn and surrounding area has another problem on their hands. You should probably look a little bit closer to home as your very own Riverside stand has recently been all but condemned as unsafe. I've heard rumours of subsidence issues and potential closure of the stand on safety grounds if Venky's refuse to fund the necessary maintenance work. Shocking. Where exactly will the money come from to rebuild a derelict stand? Perhaps given your abysmal attendances they may just close it down all together, you have no need for a forth stand really have you.

Actually if you're being honest, you're really not looking forward to Match of The Day are you. Because you see your club are no longer a member of the elite, you are but a struggling mid-table Championship club about to have your ar5e handed to you by FFP. MOTD is for Premier League clubs, you'll have to stay up rather late to watch your shower taking a tubbing off Brentford.

Lowest points total belongs to Derby I believe with 11 points, then I think it's Sunderland with 17, but I may be wrong. Burnley actually finished on 30 points having fallen only 5 points short of surviving last time. However, we are now a different class to the team of 2009/10, with a much stronger infrastructure, a better team, a better manager, TWICE the money, and we will surprise one or two people next season of that you can be sure. I see us surviving and your bitterness and jealousy ultimately consuming you.

So feel free to watch your superiors on MOTD because there will be wins, there will be more than you think, and you will be so hurt by every single one of those glorious Premier League points that we pick up on the way to survival.

That is the sh1ttest banter ever!

How pathetic, as an inbred Rovers goon why would you want to watch Burnley anyway? Your jealousy is oozing out of every pore of your disease-ridden flea bitten body.

So your best banter is that you can't wait to watch Burnley play in the Premier League on MOTD - a League and programme that most of you would give your right ball to be in every single week.

What a joke Blackburn fans are, enjoy getting your **** handed to you by Brentford and Rotherham next season while we dine out at the top table playing the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Blackburn - back in Burnley's shadow.

I'm so glad we are all (or most of us) starting to sing from the same hymmsheet. Let's have a banter with the Rovers who make witty (and even occasionally intelligent) posts but give the obvious fools the very cold shoulder. I like an argument as much as anyone when it comes to footy but you can't argue with a sick mind (the last time I posted that term a certain name changing individual actually took offence - can you believe it?).

Could well be right there Midas. Always a dangerous time when promoted to the high wage league and only 1 year left on contracts. That is why i was saying to tie them down at Christmas with release clauses if we were not promoted.
Might be nice that our board are local and love the club etc but they have to sharpen up at times, playing with the big boys now.

You lively lads down the road in the Blue section of this fine county are all millionaires aren't you? Yep. I've figured it all out! Not bad for Dingle eh?

You see, you are ALL in the prediction business. I know that because, cunningly, I've spotted that you all predict gloom, doom, an extra-finger and another night with one's own sister for the Clarets' lads. You know the wages that we will have to pay the players we want to retain. You know how much the best targets for us will cost. You predict we will fail at everything we attempt to do, all the time, non-stop.

You predicted we would go down 2 years ago and would now be in Division 1. You predicted we would be relegated last season. Then our endless lucky streak would end. Then we would meet you in the final of the playoffs and we would lose. Then either Derby or QPR would catch us. Then the injuries would stop us.

You lot must be great with the Paddy Power. And you'll have accumulated so much money, that you will have paid of Venky and got rid of them.

I am now on my knees with admiration as to all your latest predictions. Can you lend me some dose please, so I can join Paddy Power too?

RobH2O
