BURNLEY are continuing dialogue with Danny Ings and Kieran Trippier over potential new deals with the club.

Ings and Trippier both have only one year left on their current contracts and have been linked with interest from elsewhere after starring in the Clarets’ promotion season.

But Burnley are attempting to tie the duo to extended deals and discussions are continuing, although chief executive Lee Hoos is keen to keep private the details of how talks were progressing.

“I have dialogue with them all the time,” Hoos said. “But I would never do a contract negotiation in a public forum.”

Trippier has now jetted off on holiday, while Ings is preparing to represent England under 21s against Wales in Swansea on Monday.

After reported interest from elsewhere, Ings said: “Of course it is flattering to be linked with other clubs and I have seen some of the stuff in the papers and on Twitter. But I try and stay focused on what I am doing.

“You never know what is going to happen in football, but as it stands I am contracted at Burnley for another year and I am happy and looking forward to playing in the Premier League next season.”
