TOP scorer Danny Ings signed off the season win a goal - his 26th in all competitions - as Burnley drew 2-2 at Reading.

The Clarets had to come back from behind, after a 16th minute own goal by Kieran Trippier.

But after Scott Arfield equalised soon after, Ings' fine finish gave Sean Dyche's side a 2-1 lead before the break.

Reading, who went into the game in sixth, dropped out of the play-offs momentarily.

But Garath McCleary's stunning, unstoppable volley just before the hour was enough to fire them back into the play-offs.

A win would have secured their place, but Clarets captan Jason Shackell denied them that with a brilliant goalline clearance, which stopped a certain goal for Pavel Pogrebnyak.

Tom Heaton then did well to stop McCleary converting in a one-on-one, the goalkeeper staying big to block with his left foot.

And Reading were left to rue those saves when Brighton took a stoppage time lead at Nottingham Forest to pip Reading to the play-offs at the 11th hour.
