SEAN Dyche is a magician and, make no mistake, he should be handed the manager of the season prize for returning Burnley to the promised land of the Premier League.

I’ve watched the Clarets for 40 years – but I never thought I’d see us back in the top flight in my lifetime after our brief foray there five years ago.

After witnessing those remarkable scenes at Turf Moor yesterday, I believe it is one of Burnley’s greatest achievements, especially when you gauge the size of our squad, in comparison to other Championship clubs who have spent millions more than us.

The team’s broken so many individual and club records, and I feel very honoured to have seen every fixture of this truly memorable campaign.

In fact, this promotion feels a lot more special than when we achieved it under Owen Coyle in 2009 because we’ve done it on a shoestring budget.

We’ve been on the launching pad for several weeks now, but promotion feels like a supersonic rocket taking off, with us once again ready to welcome Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal to Turf Moor.

I’ll even have a local derby to look forward to at Stoke, a few miles from my home village in Staffordshire!

Now we’ve crossed the finishing line, and we can crack open the champagne and make a toast to Sean Dyche, his terrific players and the Premier League.
