Burnley manager Sean Dyche was elated at the full-time whistle as his Clarets marched into the Premier League with two games to spare.
Dyche has led the unfancied Clarets into the top flight against all expectations and promotion was secured this afternoon with a 2-0 win over Wigan at a buoyant Turf Moor.
He said: "It’s another historical marker for the club. The good thing is that we have done it ourselves.
"We didn’t want Derby to slip up, we wanted to do it ourselves. It was fantastic from the lads.
"It's getting harder to win automatic promotion to the Premier League because of all the constraints on teams like ourselves. I'm extremely proud."
"The first goal they should keep showing on Sky because what a goal that is. If it was Arsenal they would be showing it every minute.
"We have got a bunch of people who are willing to go hard and be relentless and we have shown that all season. We have shown it again today with our mentality and our quality."
On reaching the Premier League, he said: "I am looking forward to it. The challenge. We will be written off immediately, tomorrow morning I am sure we will be written off. But then we were written off this season so we will see what happens."
