CRYSTAL Palace boss Tony Pulis is among the candidates for manager of the season having guided the Eagles to Premier League safety since joining the club.

But the former Stoke boss believes the accolade should go to Burnley manager Sean Dyche, with the Clarets having the chance to clinch promotion when they host Wigan at Turf Moor today.

When asked who has manager of the season was Pulis said: “Sean Dyche at Burnley. He has done a absolutely fantastic job. We tend to go with people who win the league with the bigger clubs. But they have the resources and greater opportunities to success on the pitch.

“I love people who overachieved and I think that Sean has really overachieved at Burnley.

“If you look at the clubs in the Championship who have bigger resources than Sean has, bigger budgets and better this and better that, then what he has achieved has been fantastic.”
