Who is your Burnley player of the year, and why?

I KNOW Danny Ings and Sam Vokes have scored the goals, but I have already gone for Scott Arfield in the club’s official vote.

He was getting a bad press from Huddersfield fans when they let him go last summer, they were saying he wouldn’t be good enough for us.

But he has proved the critics wrong this season, he has been outstanding.

He must be one of the best free transfers in the Football League this season, with his work rate and the eight important goals he’s scored.

But it’s really not been about one individual this season. The whole squad and the management deserve every credit.

PAUL SMITH

THIS is a really tough decision.

I think my player of the year is Sam Vokes.

We’ve really got to see the best of him this season with him getting a regular place in the side. Good touch, good in the air, good hold-up play and a goalscorer.

Sam has been unplayable at times this season and has bossed many a centre back.

A lot of Clarets were wondering where the goals would come from when Charlie Austin left but Sam, along with Danny Ings, has been fantastic for us.

MATT RIGGS

USUALLY there would be a straightforward answer but in this extraordinary season there are several to choose from, from the unsung heroes to the blatant heroes.

They say the first step to a successful team is a quality goalkeeper and in Tom Heaton we have that. When was the last time we went through a season without the keeper making a mistake or even dropping a cross?

Kieran Trippier, Dean Marney and Sam Vokes have all been consistently brilliant but I’m going for the blatant hero in Danny Ings, whose goals and performances are about to take us to the promised land.
