KIERAN Trippier and Danny Ings are closing in on a return from injury as Burnley look to edge closer to the Premier League in the next few days.

The Clarets travel to Barnsley tomorrow night before hosting Middlesbrough on Saturday, knowing two victories could potentially see them promoted by the weekend.

Trippier and Ings have been absent with respective hamstring and ankle injuries but both are now preparing for comebacks.

Boss Sean Dyche appeared to hint that former Barnsley defender Trippier was more likely than Ings to feature at Oakwell, but is happy that the duo are about to return.

Dean Marney is also back tomorrow following a two-match ban.

"Tripps is right on the cusp and Ingsy is going along nicely," Dyche said.

"We're just leaving Danny to move freely, he is moving freely on the grass and he's got a great will to be involved. I think it will be sooner rather than later."

Excellent news. We have enough to beat Barnsley without ingsy. A place on the bench at best for him as we will be needing him against a very much improved Middlesbrough on Saturday.
The quicker we can get over the line the more games left for Sean to give a few of those young lads on the bench at Watford a taste of 1st team action. A great time to give the other squad players a run out also.

Never thought I'd ever hear myself say it but here goes, "Come on Rovers tomorrow night, you can do it". I'm just glad that they still have the smallest of sniffs at the play-offs or I think they'd throw it. I'm a bit concerned about tomorrow. We should beat Barnsley on paper without too much trouble but it has been a bogey ground for us for years. Agree with No-Nay though about Ings, may be best left until Saturday, but with Marney and maybe Tripps back we could do it.
It would be nice to be promoted before we play Wigan.

Previously I would have totally agreed with your reservation of Barnsley House, but for once I am convinced of 3 points. The reason is that this is the record breaking season where we are righting a lot of wrongs and putting to bed those hoodoos before we hopefully depart.
Btw as I type, Neil warnock has just said on talk sport that Sean Dyche is his manager of the season. I agree.

Hope you're right mate. I think we will win but it's just the history making me nervous. Not sure about Neil Warnock giving Sean the thumbs up. I agree totally of course but I can't stand Warnock, he's in the same book as Billy Davies for me, can't stand him. He is right though,ha ha.

What has happened in the past has no relevance on this side, they are drilled and focused like no other Burnley side in recent times and even without Ings (Hope he's fit for the bench and a cameo role) We should beat Barnsley comfortably

We hadn't won at Bolton in years n Blackburn had their 34 year old comfort Blackburn well n truly put to bed (;-)). We beat them at theirs in Brian laws last win. History means nothing to Sean dyche n the boys. They will be ready. 4 points from next 2 games will put us on the cusp...

Also we are 17 points clear of 6th with only 18 to play for. That's at the very least the play offs sorted. Imagine it like the red line that used to run along the corridor of the blue peter studios whenever they were raising money, the better they did the further the camera had to follow the presenter. We have reached play off corner and just in the back ground, about 6 games away, you can see the end target. The exit doors that take you through to the premier league. Trick is to keep looking where your going and not where your heading as many a team before have got this far and taken their eye of the ball, only to trip up and be over taken by the competition.

Hey, guys, you've convinced me!!! You are right, we have been smashing records and hoodoos all season. Why not another one. It's actually quite scary to think that with 2 wins from the next two and the right results in other quarters, we could be in the prem by Saturday tea-time.
Bring it on!!!

Nice thing as well is that Ings, Trippier and Marney will all be fresh. Having said that a promotion chasing side like Burnley will not feel stale. They are right up for it. I have been impressed with Baird. He reads it very well and passes along the ground.

Great news they are on the way back but I would resist risking them. The real key to promotion will be the return on Marney.
