Sam Vokes is treated pitchside on Saturday

First published in Sport

The extent of Burnley striker Sam Vokes’ knee injury, which occurred off the ball erarly in Saturday's defeat to Leicester City, should become clearer today.

Vokes left Turf Moor with his knee heavily strapped and on crutches and Burnley’s medical staff will look at the knee today when the swelling has had chance to subside.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson was close to the incident and said: “I was directly above it and it didn’t look nice.”

Hope Sam isn't too badly hurt, maybe time to give a youngster a chance,Jason Gilchrist comes to mind, that's if Danny's still not fit. I remember the 60s when younsters were drafted in regularly with amazing results, too many names to recall, but the oldies will know what I mean

We just need to ride out the last few games. We have a strong lead over 3rd and good momentum, just keep it going to the finish line now.

'lucky all year' - you make your own luck. Your club is a perfect example of this.

Lovely post, imagine if Rhodes got injured. Hope Sam is fine and we will be ok, 3 1-0 wins will see us over the line, keep the faith.

Not exactly Mungo, we've lost for the first time in 17 games, there's no cause for alarm unless you are a bitter and enraged no-dad still reeling from the shock of losing your 34 year comfort blanket at home to Burnley. For everyone else its onwards and upwards, business as usual.

If anything its the form of Blackburn Rovers that should be causing you concern, 6 points out of a possible 21 is relegation form. Maybe that's why you're now 12th and dropping like a stone.

We've got Danny Ings and Kieran Trippier due back from injury shortly, both players have been immense this season and are desperate to return to help us finish strongly. Also Dean Marney will return after one more game due to suspension.

We've lost only 4 games all season. Just to put this into context for you, last season Cardiff City were promoted as Champions on 87 points having lost 9 games, Hull City were promoted in 2nd place on 79 points having lost 15 games...

We currently have 79 points, with 7 games to go. Think about it.

It's no point trying to reason with these inbred Blackburn chimps.

It's the first time they have had anything to laugh about this calender year since we haven't been beaten since Boxing Day, even though we actually STRENGTHENED our position in the top two.

They actually need our sympathy, not our laughter.

Just take a minute and think about what you have said. You must be the biggest pr*ck in Blackburn. We are 9 points clear of 3rd place, even if QPR win their next 4 games they still have to hope we will not gain any points from our next 4 as well. Knowing we have only lost 4 all season do you really think that is going to happen. Do they not teach you anything at these special needs classes.

Ings and Trippier back after Barnsley game. Marney too. That leaves poor Vokes until season end is best guess. So 'fly", not "flies". Hard luck. Sorry your nasty little wish has fallen over like you predictions and your club.
