BURNLEY took their unbeaten Championship run to 15 games and restored their 10-point advantage in second place with to comfortable win at The Valley.

Derby County romped to a 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the lunch-time kick-off to close the gap to seven points.

But Ashley Barnes' first goal for the club set Burnley on their way to a fifth win in six.

Sam Vokes doubled the Clarets' lead from the penalty spot 10 minutes into the second half.

And that's how it looked likely to stay until substitute Michael Kightly forced an own goal in stoppage time.

The Clarets, who were without top scorer Danny Ings and leading assist maker Kieran Trippier, had to be patient for their breakthrough but looked in course for a comfortable win when it came.

Junior Stanislas, rewarded with a start for his impact off the bench in the previous two games, crossed for Barnes to head in at the near left post.

Vokes was fouled by Rhoys a Wiggins for the spot kick, and converted.

Charlton offered little in return, showing why they are struggling at the wrong end of the table.

And further misery was piled on them with a late own goal to boost the Clarets' goal difference.
