Burnley boss Dyche has no worries over Ings absence

First published in Sport

BURNLEY manager Sean Dyche described Danny Ings' absence as a "great opportunity" for someone else, after the Clarets' 2-1 win over Leeds United sent them 10 points clear in the automatic promotion places.

Ashley Barnes came in for his full debut after top scorer Ings was ruled out with ankle ligament damage.

The striker will seek further medical advice next week to establish the length of recovery required.

But Dyche has faith in his squad, and believes coming back from behind to beat Leeds showed their strength of character.

"It's a great opportunity for someone else, as you saw. The team has won again and we take great value in the group, which is the key thing.

"We just gave a soft goal away, and that can happen, but once again, there was that relentless mentality.

Yet again it shows the desire, the passion for what they do, that mentality I talk about.

"You have to do it day in, day out, because I'm a great believer you do things right on a daily basis because you don't then need to flick a switch, when the game comes round, you're ready.

"We just keep going, never beaten, and I saw that again in a performance that was ok, we can do better, but we still looked a threat and overall I felt we deserved it again."

Bodes from the burnley express saw him walking freely enough before the game which is a positive sign. Hopefully he will be back in a week or two fresh for the final push...

I agree FCBurnley. I don't think joining the u21 squad helped in that respect but pleased he was picked.
His body language gives the impression that he's tired when he's fit but last few games there just seemed to be that edge lacking and I too put that down to the need for a little r&r.
He can now sit down and watch a dvd of the Blackburn game!

I suppose you're one of the utter NUMPTIES that vote for the Labour Party who will bankrupt the country if they get the chance.

Milliband & Balls (probably the most dangerous man in the country) couldn't run a bath

By the way, Ken Dodd's dad's dog's dead......!!!

Disgraceful, the club had large debts now breaking even, the club is sat at the top of the table and has been for the majority of the season. I can't believe they could allow their club to be run this way, they should follow other clubs examples pay too much for useless bench warmers, be 50mn+ in debt and be mid table has been's, like your shower of sh!!.

No thanks UTC LLTV

Obviously this is from someone who knows as little about politics and economics as they do football. He shows himself up by calling
Labour party voters NUMPTIES when if he has any knowledge he
would know that this lot in power now have borrowed more in less than
4 years than the Labour government borrowed in 13 years and we are
now more in debt than when the Tories took over just like Rovers are.
Neither Cameron or Venkys have a clue and neither has the thick writer

Didn’t want to get political on a football thread but I want to respond to you. I agree with you about Cameron and in fact there is very little about LI/LAB/Con that I like or respect at all. But Modern Labour is a disgrace- and I stress Modern Labour not the great party that it was. There last but one leader sums it all up led us to an illegal war – aided by a Burnley fan – and has blood on his hands and has made millions on the back of equality. The current leader is a Marxist Atheist, who has never had a job outside politics and have you ever known a Labour government that hasn’t bankrupted the country? NO. They are spending too much now I agree. Therefore we should make many more cuts to the State. There is much, much, more but I’ll leave it at that.

Look who's back - it is our resident Rovers fan poorly attempting to disguise himself as a Burnley fan, Fake Villa, Bubble pop FC, Turf Moor Tom, Keep Darwen Green etc etc etc.

**** off with your negativity and your bitter jealousy - no actual real life Burnley fan is upset with our board of directors, just bitter trolls like you trying to stir up some ****.

Run along, the horse racing is on, time for some special 'you time'.

But they can get us a 10 point gap to 3rd with 10 games left without betting the ranch. More than happy with the situation we r in. Need dean marney more than Danny Ings as he makes things tick.
