BURNLEY manager Sean Dyche will re-assess Championship player of the year nominee Danny Ings’ ankle injury this morning, before picking his starting XI to face Leeds United tomorrow.

The Clarets’ 25-goal top scorer limped off in the second half of Wednesday night’s dramatic 3-3 draw at Birmingham City after taking a heavy knock to his ankle.

Dyche dismissed rumours that Ings had left St Andrew’s on crutches.

“He didn’t do that,” he said.

But Ings did miss training yesterday, making him a doubt for tomorrow’s Turf Moor clash (kick-off 3pm).

And although the 21-year-old had not had a scan at the time of yesterday’s press briefing, Dyche did not rule it out.

“We’ll let it settle and when it’s deemed appropriate that will be done, if needed of course,” said the Burnley boss.

“Anything that’s been done will be precautionary.
