EVERYWHERE I go supporters stop me to ask if Danny Ings and Sam Vokes will beat the 60-goal strike partnership record myself and Andy Lochhead set 48 years ago.

It seems to be a talking point doing the rounds in the town.

My view is, of course they can! And it will bring success in the race for promotion, which ultimately is the most important thing.

Accumulating the necessary points is more important than breaking records, and more precious on the journey to the Premier League.

Sam and Danny have been in excellent form since getting together in our dual spearhead strike force - not just for the goals they've scored but especially the work-rate up front in closing opposition defenders down.

They have been magnificent in this role all season and earned praise from their fellow professionals.

Hopefully they can come out on top again in their reunion with former Clarets striker Charlie Austin at QPR on Saturday.

It is a huge game in the race for the top spots, and hopefully the sunshine training break to Spain will have recharged the batteries and put an extra spring in the players' steps for the run-in.

Last night a minute’s applause was held ahead of the Brighton game in memory of loyal servant Arthur Bellamy.

He was a very well respected player, assistant manager, groundsman – and all-round club man – who gave his life to Burnley Football Club, and he will be missed.

Rest In Peace Arthur, you will always be a legend at Turf Moor.
