BURNLEY will have a reunion with Eddie Howe on Valentine's weekend as planned, after Bournemouth were knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool.

An upset by the Cherries would have meant rescheduling the fixture that falls on fifth round weekend, February 15, and a midweek trip to the south coast later in the season for the Clarets.

But, despite a spirited performance by Howe's men, goals for Victor Moses and Daniel Sturridge ensured Liverpool’s progress in the competition, and no changes to the Championship diary for Bournemouth and Burnley.

Despite the defeat Howe was proud of his men’s efforts in the live televised clash.

And the former Turf Moor chief, whose men were playing in League One last season, said: “I’m very proud of the players as individually they have had to work very hard to produce that level of performance.

“I was really happy with everyone.

“Hopefully everyone leaves here in a positive frame of mind.”
