BURNLEY returned to the top two of the Championship with a 3-2 New Year's Day victory over Huddersfield Town.
A Danny Ings brace and Kieran Trippier's first League goal at Turf Moor was enough to give Sean Dyche's side the points despite two goals from former Claret Martin Paterson for the visitors.
The win lifted Burnley above Derby into second spot behind leaders Leicester City and extended their unbeaten home record which stretches back to March 2013.
The Clarets were the better side for much of the game and head to Southampton in the FA Cup this weekend.
