A selection of reaction to Burnley's win over Blackpool

A stunning strike from Burnley's Scott Arfield gave the Clarets all three points in the Lancashire derby as they won 2-1 at Turf Moor, inflicting a fourth straight defeat on Blackpool.

Arfield delivered a superlative curling effort into the far corner after Clarets top-scorer Danny Ings had continued his fine form by snatching his 17th goal of the season to put his side in front early on.

But Blackpool were never out of the reckoning and Craig Cathcart levelled the scores with a header before Arfield raised the roof by ensuring Burnley occupied the Championship's top spot at Christmas.

SEAN DYCHE, the Burnley manager, is caught in the trap that has troubled so many before him as the January transfer deadline looms. In Danny Ings, the striker, Dyche has the provider of the goals that are proving so essential to Burnley’s hopes of returning to the Premier League at the end of this season.

Yet, as every goal raises the profile of the prolific forward even further, Dyche must also resign himself to the increasing likelihood that his greatest asset will be prised away from Turf Moor next month.
