BURNLEY are in talks with Brendan Flood to get the former operational director back on board.

The Rossendale-born businessman relinquished his position in January due to personal finance issues which led to him taking out an Individual Voluntary Arrangment (IVA), which has since run out.

Flood stayed away from the club for the remainder of last season, but retained a 25 per cent shareholding.

But he has had a more regular presence at Burnley’s games so far this season.

And co-chairman John Banaszkiewicz said they are in talks about a return to the boardroom for Flood.

“We are in discussion with Brendan about him coming back on board,” he said. “I am a partner with Brendan on the university (UCFB) which is going incredibly well.

“He has a 25 per cent of the shares so he would like to still be part of the board and we are in the process of discussing it.”

Banaszkiewicz also said selling any of Burnley's star players, such as Danny Ings, Kieran Trippier or Sam Vokes, in January would be a disaster.

“Sometimes things change, sometimes a player wants to go, but we will do our best to keep them as best we can. It would be a disaster if we sell those players (in January),” said Banaszkiewicz.
