No home win in five for Burnley

BURNLEY will go into Sunday’s derby with Blackburn Rovers hoping to recover from a third defeat in five winless home games, after slipping up against high flying Hull City last night.

The Clarets struggled to carve out chances against the Tigers in front of a crowd of only 10,450 – the lowest league attendance at Turf Moor this season.

Manager Sean Dyche made five changes to the team that drew 1-1 in their last game with Barnsley.

But they failed to have the desired effect against a promotion chasing Hull side who had even more determination not to lose a fourth straight away game.

Charlie Austin might have levelled with a stoppage time header from substitute Sam Vokes’ cross, but cupped his head in his hands in frustration after failing to hit the target.

Defeat kept Burnley 11th, while Hull moved up to second with victory.

At the start of the season the first thing I looked for was the two Rovers fixtures, and now, with it right upon us, I couldn't care less about it. Dyche has managed, with his negative soul destroying football, to kill any enthusiasm I had for my team. I'll be out doing something else on Sunday and won't even be giving the derby match a second thought.
Dyche fails to realise that it's an entertainment industry, and an expensive one at that, and this kind of football is anything but entertaining, he can't even argue that it's getting results. I don't think I'm the only one that is now finding better things to spend their money on rather than watching that dross.

In terms of goals scored, we are averaging less than a goal a game under Dyche.

The football is dirge, the tactics are baffling (1 striker v 3 center backs - good grief), The players don't look like they know what they are supposed to be doing and the cliches are as patronising as they are frequent.

In todays trigger happy attitude towards managers, i think it is right that we give SD plenty of time to correct his issues, given that we now have very little to play for.

That said, between now and the end of the season, we need to be shown that Dyche has the ability to take us forward - if he can't, we need to make some calls.

If we carry this form into next year then relegation is a very serious possibility.

I admit last night was very depressing but Sean cannot be judged till next season. However, I can see major changes. Only Ross has signed, so where does that leave Grant, Duff, Marney, Mc Cann, Pato etc., not to mention Charlie? Remember, all managers like to create their own identity so I can see alot of comings and goings during the summer. Seans not that naive,he knows recent showings wont do and maybe some of those names mentioned above might benefit from a change of scenery. I haven't seen things look as flat for a long time, so maybe with the sky or Charlie money, Sean could bring in some of his young fresh contacts to lift the gloom that surrounds the club at present. Keep the Faith!

Have to admit this sunday game is the only time I'm struggling to muster up enthusiasm for the derby fixture. Even the possibility of losing isn't stirring up any strong feeling. Rovers have been dire. So boring. What a pity. I will be at ewood though. Season ticket holder

We have a lot of big games coming up but sadly big for the opposition! Cardiff, forest, Ipswich, Bristol city are to name a few. I'm glad we have 48 points because I can only see us getting a few more!

A lot of managers have lost there jobs with a better record than Dyche! Unfortunately you don't get a long time to prove yourself in this league and let's be fair he as hardly set the world on fire with his tactics! Lets not forget if we had not had a bit of a run early season with this sort of form we would be in the relegation zone !

Yes the football had looked rubbish, yes we're not getting results , but lets not fall into that same disease that plagues the tossers down the road of booing your own players and manager, were all not happy but we've still got to give SD a full crack of the whip. I think the Derby win can give everyone, the players, fans, manager and club a massive boost. UTC
