FORMER Blackburn Rovers star Matt Jansen delivered a masterclass in the striker’s art to propel Chorley to one of their easiest wins of the season in Evo-Stik First Division North.

His quick thinking and aerial power started and finished his five-star contribution, enabling the Magpies to have the points wrapped up by half time.

The visitors fell behind on 23 minutes when ex-Accrington Stanley keeper Josh Molloy inadvertently carried the ball outside the penalty area as he rushed out to save and Jansen instantly took the free kick to set up Steve Foster.

Ten minutes later Jansen’s shot was charged down and Dale Whitham crashed home his 19th goal of the season from the rebound.

Jansen then made it 3-0 before the interval with a thumping header.
