Big medals collection for Harriers

DARTFORD Harriers enjoyed a 26-medal haul at the Kent county AA track & field championships at Ashford's Julie Rose Stadium.
David Hall won the U20 high jump with 1.95m, only one centimetre under the English schools’ qualification.
Chelsey Eyers (U17 ladies) achieved the ESQ with a silver medal discus throw of 35.51m. Sisters Isio and Naomi Orogun also reached the ESQ thanks to Isio’s 26.3s silver in the U15 200m and Naomi’s 46.75s gold in the U17 300m hurdles.
Senior ladies Claire Capon and Kat Sutton were also in gold medal form with Capon’s 16.53s in the 100m hurdles and Sutton’s 58.05s in the 400m.

U17: Naomi Orogun 300m 2nd 42.73; Georgina Mason Reeves SP 2nd 7.80pb, discus 5th 25.52.

Senior men: Alex Lee long jump 3rd 6.25; Dave Stewart 400m 2nd 50.99 (pb in heat of 50.81); Justin Bailey 400m 7th 55.12.
Erith track played host the previous to the first of the young athlete leagues for competitors under the age of 17.
A and B strings are used in each event to include as many competitors as possible.
Highlights of the match for Dartford Harriers were several performances close to, or exceeding, English schools’ championships qualifying standards.
Isio Orogun won the U15 girls’ 100m A in 12.9s and the 200m in 26.4s, while sister Naomi won the U17 300m hurdles A in 46.9s and the 300m A in 42.7s.
David Aguma was also a winner with 11.9s in the U15 100m B and 24.4s in the 200m B.
Lewis Jackson won the U17 men’s javelin A with 43.16m, his first outing with the 700 gr implement.
He also won the 100m hurdles A in 15.0s. Other wins came from: Callum Ward U15 1,500m A (4m48.3s), Morgan Rees U17 men’s 200m B (24.1s), Holly Page U13 girls’ 800m A (2m40.1s), Ella Walden U17 women’s long jump A (5.03m), Joe Millman javelin B (35.90m).
