ANDY Rayner put the finishing touches to his preparations for this year’s London marathon when he finished in a useful third place in the Paddock Wood half marathon.
The Blackheath & Bromley Harriers athlete timed 70m44s on a testing course.
Fellow Harrier Alex Gibbins, who is also set to run the London race, was 13th in 73m25s.
Ian Montgomery (103rd) and Colin Illingworth (104th), both with new bests of 84m40s, and Tony Crowder 154th (87m32s) were all inside 90 minutes.
The first woman from Blackheath & Bromley to finish was Sarah Dowling (250th) in 92m33s, with Justine Eastbury (348th) timing 95m55s and Sarah Belaon (389th) 97m00s.
Rosie Ferguson ran in the Croydon half marathon and finished 72nd in 93m47s.
