DARTFORD Harriers member Des Adkinson travelled to Spain to run the Seville City marathon on Sunday.
Now in the M45 age group, Adkinson had an excellent run in good weather conditions.
Hampered by interruptions to his preparations with a viral infection, he managed to get back on his schedule of trying to break the magic three hour barrier.
Training with the Harriers’ endurance group, who are currently preparing for a half marathon, helped him get some speed back and he passed the line in 2hr59m53s.
Meanwhile, Arthur Kimber, now in the M75 age group, made a successful return at the weekend from a nine-month injury.
He competed on Sunday in the British masters south of England indoor championships at Lee Valley.
Kimber recorded two wins, both Club record performances, timing 86.71s for the 400m and 3m13.67s in the 800m.
