Istead and Ifield Harrier Ray Pearce races to victory in the A20 Paths ‘n’ Downs Marathon

In the inaugural A20 Paths ‘n’ Downs Marathon, Istead and Ifield Harrier, Ray Pearce ran away from the field to an easy victory.
Ray finished in just over 3 hours on what was a very tough course.
Also taking place at the same venue was the Half Marathon, where Jason Beaney was the club’s only entrant, Jason just missed out on breaking 2 hours in the equally tough shorter event.
Saturday saw the third race in the Kent Cross Country League, this time held at Danson Park, Bexleyheath.
This event was for ladies and juniors only and the four club members who took part were led home by Lynne Champion.
On Sunday the Kent Fitness League continued with the second race of the season at Swanley Park.
There was a great turnout from Istead and Ifield with 24 members completing the race.
Andrew Archer was first for the men, while Lynne Champion, racing for the second successive day, led home the ladies.
