EXETER was the venue for last month’s 2011 English schools combined events championships where Dartford Harrier David Hall competed for the Kent U17 men’s team in the octathlon.
Four personal best performances contributed to his silver medal as Hall collected a total of 5,175 points, only four points behind the winner.
The Kent U17 team also gained silver.
Hall, who is ranked as the UK number two, has now been selected for a home international indoor pentathlon fixture against Scotland, Ireland and Wales on December 3 at Kelvin Hall in Glasgow.
Fellow Harrier Adam Chalk was competing in the U20 men’s decathlon, finishing seventh with 5,566 points.
Elsewhere, the Kent combined events, masters and U13 championships at Erith completed the year’s track and field meetings.
Lewis Jackson took silver in the U15 boys’ pentathlon with a pb of 2,239 points, only 51 points behind the winner.
Jackson won the first three events, all with personal bests, and also produced a pb in the final event, the 800m.
In the U13 championships, Isio Orugun achieved double gold in the 75m (10.24s) and 150m (20.18s).
She had also won the heats, with personal bests of 10.11s and 19.99s.
Damoy Stewart was seventh in the 75m in 10.90s and fourth in the 150m in 21.39s.
She was sixth in the shot with 6.37m.
In the masters championships, Gary Capon retained his high jump title in the M50 age group with a leap of 1.55m.
