DARTFORD Harriers’ Lucy Hickmott collected silver in the 300m hurdles at the southern counties track & field championships in Ashford.

The Gravesend Grammar School pupil already holds the Kent AA, the Kent schools and the schools inter counties titles after taking up the event only in May and continued her impressive season with a time of 46.1s.

Hannah Searing, the current Kent schools U17 hammer champion, did well to finish fifth at Ashford with a throw of 36.06m. Searing, a 16-year-old pupil at Swan Valley School, has a personal best just over 37m.

Hickmott and Searing have been selected to represent Kent at the inter counties match at Kingston on Sunday.
