CLAYTON-le-Moors Harrier Kitty Garnett has recently found out that she was the winning over-70 woman at this year’s Flora London Marathon.
The race was back in April and the official results showed the 71-year old from Sabden in fourth place with her time of five hours and 15 minutes.
On closer examination, two of those in front had men’s names and the third was called Les – which also turned out to be a man.
Now the organisers have sent her a plaque to mark her achievement.
It is the first time she has won her age group category in her 22nd outing to the capital.
