A PAIR of runners from Istead & Ifield Harriers AC have taken part in two different extreme events.
Andy Archer ran the mid-summer Monroe half marathon in 2hr07m07s.
The course is run off road at Box Hill, Surrey, off road on what could politely be called multi-terrain, and climbs 3,000 feet.
It is up and down the side of the hill, which is steeper than the road.
Not to be outdone, Steve Cable took part in the Ironman triathlon in Nice, France.
The 2.4-mile swim was followed by a 112-mile bicycle race and then a marathon run.
Cable completed the trek in 13hr45m45s, finishing 1,800th out of 2,500 finishers.
