Despite the hot conditions Chorley Harrier Paul Jackson knocked two seconds of his previous best time in the third Harrock Hill Race of the series with a great finish in 37.20 for 16th place in a field of 114 runners.
John Sutton led the club with his highest finish at the race to take third place in 34.14.
Ian Williams held off the challenge of Jackson to take 15th spot in 37.10, while Phil Iddon made the top 20 in a time of 38.07.
New member John Smith crossed the line 38th in 41.16. Vicky Davison was only marginally outside her course best and ran well to finish 8th lady in 45.40. Lisa Johnston was 12th in 47.53 from Nikki Rushton and Janet Chaplin.
Vet50 Roger Johnson was faster by almost a minute on last month in 55.16, while junior runner James Shuttleworth took the U18 prize in 56.56, finishing a few places ahead of his grandfather John McDonald.
Chorley AC achieved eighth team place, led home by a superb run from Paul Bass 42nd(42:37) who has recently improved massively just piping our most consistent athlete of late Paul Wareing 43rd(42:41).
