Chorley Athletics Club enjoyed some excellent results in the North of England Athletics Championships Track and Field League meeting.
Philip Livesey won both the men's high jump and javelin going over the bar at 1.60m and throwing 39.14m respectively, while a shot putt of 9.45m and discus throw of 24.88m gave him two third places.
Eloise Manger won the women's javelin with a throw of 32.75 and had three third places in the hammer, discus and shot with 21.91, 18.61 and 8.55 respectively. John Wright was placed fifth in the shot putt B.
Sprinters Michael Hough and John Wright did the100m A and B events with Michael finishing second A with 11.8 and John's time of 12.3 giving him second B and in the 200m race Michael came third with 24.0 dead and John fifth with 24.8.
Ben Knight had a good third place running in the A event in a time of 58.2 after competing in the 100m non scoring race and finishing second with 12.4.
Sam Hewison ran the middle distance events crossing the line in fourth clocking 2.16.4 for 800m and 4.40.0 for fifth spot in the 1500m and Nathan Lawton came home fourth over the barriers and water jump giving him a steeplechase time of 11.36.0.
The Murray sisters, Charlotte and Jeanette were the club's two women sprinters in action with Charlotte competing in the 100m A Race taking third place and Jeanette running the 200m for fifth A. Charlotte made her debut in the Javelin giving her fourth B and Jeanette competing in the shot for the first time was placed fifth B and gave both ladies new personal bests The last track event of the day, the relays, saw the club's 4 x 100m squad of Michael Hough, John Wright, Nathan Lawton and Ben Knight get the baton round safely to come home fourth.
