DARTFORD Harriers’ Joe Clark claimed bronze in the men’s U20 high jump at the English indoor athletics championships in Birmingham.

Clark secured the medal with an effort of 1.94m and is currently ranked third in the UK rankings for the men’s U20 age group.

After last week’s southern cross country championships, eight athletes from Dartford Harriers travelled to Sunderland to compete at the national championships on Saturday.

With heavy snow in the morning, conditions on the course were cold and muddy.

Chloe Sharp came 36th in the U13 girls’ race and Rebecca Burford 224th, while Rowan Burford was 198th in the U13 boys’ contest.

In the U17 men’s race, Alex Cameron placed 142nd and Connor Burford 198th.

Craig Sharp was 457th in the senior men’s with a time of 54m40s ahead of fellow Harriers Reuben Burford (768th in 62m01s) and Jason Marchant (925th in 67m25s).
