DARWEN’S perfect start to the Northern League’s Latham Baxendale Twenty20 tournament came to a shuddering end on Friday night as Preston inflicted pain on the locals at Birch Hall.
John Cordingley’s in-form men were in confident mood against the T20 holders – but after batting first they could only manage 91-9 from their 20 overs.
Preston’s Sajid Patel then hit 40 to steer Preston home with more than five overs to spare.
