I wouldn't get too excited just yet about all this takeover talk.
While there seems no doubt that it's a serious enquiry, there's an awful lot of water to flow between the Ganges and the River Darwen before this purchase could become reality.
It's somewhat disconcerting that the price being quoted at £25million is less than the price that Man City are reportedly willing to pay for a promising yet hardly world class James Milner.
I'm sure Rovers fans would welcome any prospective purchaser assuming they pass the 'fit and proper person test' and they genuinely wish to keep us in the Premier League.
That means being prepared to invest at least £10million in new players and allow Sam to wheel and deal as he would still have to do with that sum in improving the team.
Burnley, meanwhile are reported to have yet another Royal fan with Prince Edward joining his brother Charles in "coming out" and supporting the Clarets.
So it seems that not content with being unlucky in love, the Royals are also cursed in their football allegiances.
Oh no, they're supporting England of course! We've no chance!
