OLD Trafford will stage a Twenty20 international in 2008 when England take on New Zealand.

Lancashire have also been awarded a One Day International between England and India in 2007 as well as npower Tests against West Indies and New Zealand over the next two seasons.

"This is great news for Lancashire and for the whole North West," said the Club's Chief Executive Jim Cumbes.

"Twenty20 cricket was an immediate hit in this region when it was introduced four years ago, we have had huge crowds for Lancashire's matches at Old Trafford and I'm sure our ground will be packed for an international.

"It underlines that Old Trafford remains a major venue, despite the blow of losing an Ashes match in 2009," added Mr Cumbes.

Meanwhile ticket sales are booming for England's games at Old Trafford this summer.

The first three days of the npower Test with Pakistan are heading for sell-outs, as is the NatWest Series ODI with Sri Lanka.
