BLACKBURN Rovers midfielder Steven Reid capped a brilliant season by scooping the Peter White Memorial Trophy for the goal of the season at the club's annual awards night last night.

The Republic of Ireland international, who has been a key figure in Rovers' charge for Europe, won the fans vote for his wonder strike against Wigan Athletic at the JJB Stadium on New Year's Eve.

Reid, Tugay and Craig Bellamy also shared the man of the match seasonal award, while Sergio Peter was named young player of the year.

David Bentley picked up a gong for scoring the fastest goal of the season against West Ham, which was timed at 26 seconds.

Jordan Ford, who has seen each of Rovers' last 260 games, was named fan of the year at the glittering ceremony at Ewood.
