WELL, the Clarets' re-building process has already begun and I have to say I'm a little surprised.

I knew Steve Cotterill would have to shift some players out to bring some new personnel in and to see the names Gifton Noel-Williams, Duane Courtney and Danny Karbassiyoon on the transfer list isn't really a shock.

But to see Micah Hyde's name on their was. He's been a mainstay of the Clarets team for the last couple of seasons although not one of their best players.

I don't know whether something's happened behind the scenes but Steve has to do as he sees fit and we must back his judgement.

And that applies for the new boy coming in, Steve Jones.

I have to be perfectly honest and say I don't anything about the boy but again, Steve will know what he's capable of and believe he will be able to play in his system.

I'll be interested to see him play as Steve must think highly of him but Im hoping he won't be the last person coming into the club.

I still feel we'll need another striker - preferably one that can head the ball because we haven't had a striker who was really good in the air since Gareth Taylor left.

That's a priority for me as is a proper right back. Michael Duff and Frank Sinclair never look the part when they play there so that needs to be addressed.

Also, I'd like us to bring in a midfield general. We need a real ball-winner, somebody who will boss the middle of the park.

With those signings, and they are a minimum from my point of view, we'll be a competitive outfit.

We'll need at least another four or five signings and I'm confident that Steve already has his eyes on a few targets and he'll be ready to strike once the retained lists are finalised and the free agents flood onto the market.

You can only hope that the board back him with the finance he needs to turn the Clarets into a side capable of challenging for promotion.

This is his team now and he'll be the man responsible for how they perform.

But I believe he's taking us in the right direction so come Clarets fans - BELIEVE IN STEVE!
